Bahtera Adi Jaya is moving forward with one of our most significant strategic initiatives — the construction of a new dry storage facility in the Jatake area.

More than just an expansion of capacity, this project reflects our commitment to building a distribution system that is more reliable, more efficient, and better equipped to meet the demands of a growing industry.

What Is Dry Storage and Why Does It Matter in Distribution?

Dry storage refers to a system for storing goods in dry, controlled conditions  without the need for refrigeration or special treatment, unlike cold storage. It is commonly used for products that are sensitive to moisture, ranging from industrial raw materials to consumer goods.

In modern industrial warehousing, dry storage serves as the foundation of distribution operations. Having the right facilities in place directly affects speed, safety, and efficiency across the supply chain from the manufacturer all the way to the end consumer.

PEB Construction: The Right Choice for Large-Scale Industrial Warehousing

What distinguishes the Jatake Dry Storage project from a conventional warehouse build is the use of PEB Construction technology — Pre-Engineered Building — a modern construction system widely used in large-scale structures such as aircraft hangars.

Janto, Business Development General Manager at Bahtera Adi Jaya, explained that the decision to use PEB was carefully considered. The system allows the building to span up to 46 meters from side to side, with no support columns in the middle which is an advantage that directly improves storage flexibility and operational efficiency.

"Without columns in the center, the warehouse floor becomes much more open. Goods can be arranged more efficiently, staff can move around more freely, and the risk of operational bottlenecks is significantly reduced," Janto said.

Beyond space efficiency, PEB systems also offer advantages in construction speed and long-term structural durability — both critical factors for industrial warehouse infrastructure at this scale.

Infrastructure as a Reflection of Company Values

What stands out about this project is how Bahtera Adi Jaya approaches it — not simply as a construction job, but as an investment in doing things the right way.

"Bahtera isn't just putting up a building. We believe that the right process and the right construction approach will always deliver the best results," said Janto.

This reflects a broader philosophy we hold: that quality service starts with quality infrastructure. A well-designed dry storage facility has a direct impact on product integrity, distribution reliability, and the confidence that customers and business partners place in us.

What This Means for Customers, Principals, and Stakeholders

The new facility is expected to deliver meaningful benefits across our network.

For customers and principals, improved warehouse capacity and quality translates to safer storage and a more efficient distribution process. For business partners and stakeholders, this project signals that we remain committed to growing in a structured, sustainable manner.

A Strategic Step Toward Better Distribution

The Jatake Dry Storage project is a tangible demonstration that Bahtera Adi Jaya continues to invest in our future. By adopting PEB Construction technology, prioritizing operational efficiency in the building's design, and maintaining quality standards throughout the process, we are building a stronger foundation for distribution in Indonesia.

This project also reinforces our position as a distribution company that doesn't just respond to market demands — we prepare ahead of them, developing infrastructure that is ready for the industry's evolving needs. Find your solutions with Bahtera here.
